North Seattle has a bad rep. Not as bad as South Seattle, but I think its under appreciated. Sure we don’t have the hipster bars of Capitol Hill. The great schools like Ballard. Or the views from Queen Anne. But I’m really starting to love the north side. Its family friendly, affordable, and is welcoming.
we had a picnic at Carkeek and I love that there was still space for a quiet meal. But then we wondered off closer to the beach and found tons of families playing and the bubble man was there entertaining the kids. Once you get past the awkwardness of a grown man with a van luring your child over, he’s actually a pretty fun element on a sunny day in the park.
Its amazing how every time the sun comes out we are reminded that our hood isn’t bad at all.
